5, 2011: Susan Feiger will present a program on The Wells-Higman
Co. The
Wells-Higman Co. was a basket
making factory located in Traverse City,
which employed up to 300 men,
women and "boys" from 1893 to 1950. The
story of this large factory will
be presented by Susan Feiger using
historic photos and documents.
All meetings are open to the
public.
November
4, 2010: Richard P. Carroll will give a presentation on the
Friedrich Observation Tower.
Past Programs
October 7, 2010: Stephen Lewis gave a presentation on
the Salem Witch Trials:
what happened and why. Lewis explored both the fact and the theories
attempting to explain those facts concerning the famous Salem Witch
Trials. Lewis is Professor of English Emeritus at Suffolk College on
Long
Island New York, holds a doctorate in the literature of Puritan New
England from New York University, and has published several novels
set in the same time period as the trials.
