A group of fifteen students and their music director, Sonya Neal, performed a sampling of their Christmas Concert music for the Old Mission Historical Society at the December Pot Luck. The selections were multicultural displays of music and dance. We enjoyed everything from America The Beautiful to an African playground game. This high quality performance was enjoyed by one and all. Following the performance we presented a program on, ‘Education on Old Mission Peninsula’ beginning with the Native Americans through the consolidated Old Mission Peninsula School of today. One room schoolhouses were the focus of this discussion. Jerry Ostlund, Tim Carroll, Cal Jamieson spoke of their experiences in the one-room schoolhouses. Rob Manigold spoke of being in the first class of the consolidated school. The children were fascinated. Abby Kime is singing a solo.
